Good news for adventure enthusiasts and regular travellers who love journeying through mountainous roads! Himachal Road Transport Corporation's Kullu Depot will operate bus services on the longest and highest route in the country, between Leh and Delhi, starting from 2nd June. The bus service to Leh will commence as soon as the district administration grants permission. The district administration has already allowed the opening of the Manali-Sarchu-Leh road for all vehicles from 1st June, provided the weather conditions are favourable.

It is noteworthy that last year, bus services for Delhi-Manali-Sarchu-Leh started on 15th June. However, the buses will begin operating earlier this time, setting a new record for the corporation. This route, spanning 30 hours, offers an opportunity to explore Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and the enchanting region of Leh-Ladakh. Travellers can cover the 1,026-kilometer journey from Delhi to Leh for just INR 1,740.

This year, both domestic and international tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy an exciting bus journey between Leh and Delhi right from the beginning of June. Ansh Sharma, the Regional Manager of HRTC's Kullu Depot, revealed that if all vehicles are allowed on the Sarachu route from 1st June, the bus service to Leh will commence from 2nd June.

During the 30-hour journey, travellers will delight in the beauty of the Baralacha Pass at an altitude of 16,500 feet, Nakeela Pass at 15,547 feet, Tanglang La Pass at 17,480 feet, and Lachung La Pass at 16,616 feet on the Manali-Leh highway. Last year, the bus service on this route was suspended in September, but now it will resume from 2nd June.

Three drivers and two conductors will operate the services on the Leh-Delhi route. The first driver will take the bus from Leh to Kullu, the second will cover the journey from Kullu to Sundernagar, and the third will operate from Sundernagar to Delhi. Additionally, two conductors will accompany the travellers throughout the trip, with the first conductor staying with the bus from Leh to Kullu and the second conductor accompanying the passengers from Kullu to Delhi.
