Day 1

Uttarakhand is home of several awe inspiring and magnificent Himalayan peaks and trekking destinations. Some of the very famous trek destinations like Har ki Dun, Kedarkantha begins from a place literally situated in the lap of the mesmerizing himalayas, that place is nothing but a beautiful and untouched, picturesque valley.
It's a valley situated at such a place (6455 feet) which takes 8hours (approx) from Dehradun, trust me  it's a journey that showcases different shades of life of people residing there, it's a journey you won't regret, you won't forget. It offers you the tranquility of himalayas, the serene confluence of 2 beautiful rivers, the freely flowing yamunotri, small villages where you can find people carrying out their daily shores, local markets, local food, school van full of chirpy children, young women carrying woods and so on. On the journey you will cross the Queen of hills - Mussorie where you can stay and admire the views around the famous Kempty  falls.
But but but, as you know everything has its merits and de merits the same applies here too. The education system for local is not that good due to which the children have to leave their homes for further studies. The villages here do not have access to great data connectivity like us, after reaching "Purola" (@1524 meteres) data connectivity is not found and BSNL /Vodafone can be used for Calls but again who needs Wi-fi when you are in the lap of himalayas. There you will also find exquisite birds and flora - fauna as the village falls in the area of a natural sanctuary known as "Govind pashu vihar ". The people here are simple and filled with innocence, they will welcome you warm heartedly and if you are lucky you may be offered a visit to their home and local delicacy. It was a memorable experience for me and a part of me will always be there. The soulful hills of Uttarakhand never fail to connect you with them again and again.
