Anchaviyo, Pure Blissful Lake resort near Mumbai
Already tired working for 5 days and wondering what to do for upcoming weekend? Well, I have an answer to that, Anchaviyo Resort. We planned our girl trip to a place only 2 hours drive away from Mumbai, a perfect weekend getaway.
Anchaviyo, one of the best resorts near Mumbai spells luxury and convenience at your disposal. If you're in a mood to just relax amdist nature and in the lap of luxury while sipping away your hot cuppa coffee with your beau, then this is your go-to-resort.
This Resort is tucked away in a village Palghar, Maharashtra. We had booked a car for 3 days to ourselves (preferrably Savaari Rentals). A train departs from Mumbai to Palghar, but again you will have to hire a cab from the station to resort, that is an hour drive away.
On our arrival in the evening, we were warmly greeted by the staff. Anchaviyo, is a breathtaking beautiful Lake resort, with mountains in the backdrop. One can count shades of Oranges & Reds while the sun is setting over the mountains.
This charming resort near Mumbai has everything accomodated under one roof, one need not drive away to have food or watch a movie in a theatre. Yes, you heard me right! They have cozy recliner 8 seater movie theatre along with a All Day Dining restuarant (Chinese, North Indian, Italian, practically everything).
Awakened by birds melodiously chirping over our tent, we were lost looking at the sun dawning over the gleaming Lake Vaitarna. It was a perfect postcard view to behold, luscious green manicured garden blooming with colorful flowers. I look below at Lake Vaitarna, fog settling over the serene & quaint lake like it is its home. A soft wind running through my hair tricks me to think that, "I could settle down here".
We picked our respective cycle from Resort's Shack and explored this mesmerizing property, it was getting prettier with each passing second. My eyes were feasting on this beautiful painting. After our short exploration, we started playing Carrom & Table Tennis (they have board games, badminton, football ground, books & movie DVD's) followed by our sumptious Lunch (Kitkat shake recommended).
In the afternoon, we booked the complete Mini theatre to ourselves (watching nailbiting NH10). After spending some time strolling by the lake, clearing day-to-day clutters off our minds, we decided to do Kayaking, cutting through calm & stunning Lake Vaitarna. As our hands stopped rowing, taking a minute to breathe in fresh air and we watched the sun slowly sink behind tall & rugged mountains creating various hues of oranges & reds in the Sky.
Later in the night, we laid our hands on chilled beer, sipping by the pool and dipping our toes in the cold water. In the freezing night, staff were kind to arrange campfire to keep ourself warm, chatting away in the warmth of fire we lost track of time.
Next day we ended our journey by treating ourselves with rejuvenating foot spa, massaging away sore & tense muscles. Spa is always an answer to your muscle woes. Bidding adieu to this picturesque country like village was not very easy. Nevertheless, all good things come to an end.
How to reach: Private mode of trasport is a better option. There is train from Mumbai to Palghar Station, hire a cab which is an hour driveway.
Travel Tips: Book the Spa & Kayak before hand. Wake up early in the morning at 6 am to view their misty & foggy morning.
